- Shows good instincts when facing the action in zone coverage, and Cypress has solid ball skills.
- Explodes out of his backpedal and has the hands and coordination to force interceptions.
- Always seems to find the ball quickly enough to at least get a hand on it. Not afraid to stick his nose into traffic against the run despite his size.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Liability against the run. Cypress gives effort but doesn’t have the power as a tackler or the ability to slip blocks.
- Needs to tighten his angles in pursuit. Needs to show better tackling technique to consistently finish.
- Feet aren’t ideal, as Cypress gets sloppy in his backpedal and can be sluggish when transitioning to close on the ball.
