Draft Profile: Bio
Cayden Green has emerged as one of the top interior offensive line prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft. The 6'5", 316-pound guard began his collegiate journey at Oklahoma, where he saw action in 11 games with five starts as a freshman in 2023. Following that season, Green transferred back to his home state to join the Missouri Tigers, where he immediately stepped in as the starting left guard for all 13 games of the 2024 campaign. Green's impact at Missouri was felt immediately upon arrival. He anchored an offensive line that ranked seventh nationally in time of possession (32:54) and helped the Tigers achieve impressive offensive production with 2,138 rushing yards, 2,926 passing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns in 2024. Missouri's offensive front became one of the SEC's best under Green's watch, ranking fourth in the conference in tackles for loss allowed (4.62 per game) and seventh in sacks allowed (2.00 per game). Before his collegiate career, Green was a standout at Lee's Summit North High School, where he helped lead his team to a 27-10 record over three years with three consecutive state playoff appearances, including a championship game appearance his senior year. A consensus four-star recruit, Green was rated as the No. 2 prospect from Missouri and among the top offensive guard prospects nationally according to major recruiting services. His elite potential was recognized early when he was named both a MaxPreps and Under Armour All-American in 2022.Scouting Report: Strengths
- Exceptional anchor strength in pass protection – can absorb power rushers and reset his feet without surrendering ground, showing outstanding core stability when defenders try to walk him back.
- Nasty finisher in the run game who plays through the whistle with bad intentions – consistently looks to plant defenders into the turf and brings legitimate glass-eater mentality to the trenches.
- Quick processor who shows advanced understanding of stunts and twists – rarely caught out of position and demonstrates veteran-level awareness when defensive coordinators get creative.
- Generates impressive torque from his hips when drive blocking – creates consistent vertical displacement at point of attack and shows ability to reset the line of scrimmage against quality SEC defensive tackles.
- Fluid mover in space with surprisingly nimble feet for his size – can climb effectively to second level and adjust on the move to connect with linebackers in zone schemes.
- Demonstrates textbook hand placement in pass sets – consistently lands his punch inside the defender's frame and shows vice-grip strength once locked on, rarely allowing disengagement.
- Plays with natural leverage despite 6'5" frame – maintains low pad level through contact and has shown significant improvement keeping his base wide through engagement.
- Versatile scheme fit who has thrived in both gap and zone concepts – shows technical proficiency pulling across formation and working combination blocks seamlessly with center.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Can occasionally get overaggressive in pass protection, resulting in lunging and compromised balance – needs to trust his technique rather than hunting for the knockout blow.
- Hand usage in pass protection remains inconsistent – sometimes allows defenders into his chest before establishing control, negating his natural power advantage in early reps.
- Footwork can get choppy when redirecting against counters – elite interior rushers have exploited his occasional inability to quickly reset and mirror sudden lateral movements.
- Demonstrates adequate but not exceptional recovery skills when beaten – once his initial set is compromised, can struggle to regain positioning against high-level competition.
- Shows occasional moments of hesitation when processing complex defensive fronts – can be a beat slow identifying and picking up late blitzers in protection schemes.
Scouting Report: Summary
Teams will covet Green's blend of nastiness and technical ability in the interior offensive line. He brings day-one starter potential with his impressive anchor strength and ability to create vertical displacement in the run game. While he shows legitimate people-moving power, his occasional lapses in hand placement and recovery mechanics will need refinement at the next level to handle elite NFL defensive tackles. What stands out most on film is how Green combines raw power with surprising mobility. He can dominate at the point of attack on gap schemes one play, then seamlessly execute reach blocks and second-level climbs the next. His versatility extends beyond scheme, as his frame and skill set suggest he could play either guard position effectively. However, his tendency to get overaggressive and occasional processing delays against complex stunts will limit his ceiling until addressed through professional coaching.
The developmental trajectory is what makes Green particularly intriguing. His significant technical improvements from sophomore to junior year demonstrate coachability and commitment to his craft. His ceiling comparison is a tone-setting interior lineman with Pro Bowl potential who can transform a running game's identity while providing reliable pass protection. His floor remains that of a quality starter who may struggle against the league's elite interior defenders until he develops more consistent technique across all aspects of his game.

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects.
