Draft Profile: Bio
Walker Eget threw for 3,250 yards and 40 touchdowns at West Ranch High School in California and was named the Los Angeles Daily News Newcomer of the Year in 2019. Both of his brothers, Weston and Wyatt, also played college quarterback.Eget spent five years at San Jose State. After three seasons with little playing time, he started seven games in 2024, throwing for 2,504 yards while playing through a torn ACL. He started 11 games in 2025, throwing for 3,051 yards and 17 touchdowns, including a run of 275 straight passes without an interception, and earned honorable mention All-Mountain West. He hurt the knee again late that season and had surgery.
The NCAA granted Eget a sixth year in February 2026, and he was named Duke's starter on 25 August. He threw three touchdown passes at Illinois and two against William & Mary, and he came off the bench after a finger injury on his throwing hand to lead a 19-16 win at Virginia.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Accurate pocket passer who completes about 61 percent of his throws
- Three touchdown passes in the win at Illinois
- Rarely takes sacks, with one in eight games this season
- Protects the ball, with three interceptions this season and a 275-pass clean streak in 2025
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Knee history includes a torn ACL in 2024 and surgery after 2025
- A finger injury on his throwing hand cost him the first half at Virginia
- North Carolina forced several risky throws from him in a loss
- Mobility is limited after two knee injuries, so he rarely extends plays
- Sixth-year player who will be an older rookie
Scouting Report: Summary
Eget is a smart, experienced pocket passer who has given Duke steady play in his final season. He throws with timing and accuracy, protects the ball and rarely takes sacks, as his three-touchdown day at Illinois showed. However, his knee history is long, from the torn ACL he played through in 2024 to surgery after 2025, and his mobility is limited. He will also be an older rookie, and his finger injury at Virginia added to the medical questions.
Overall, Eget is a reliable, tough quarterback with good decision-making. He projects as a priority free agent backup whose knee will decide his value.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
