Scouting Report: Strengths
- Leo has the fluid movement skills and speed to turn and run in coverage against tight ends.
- One of the true straight-up edge burners in this draft class, Leo has the kind of skill set NFL teams covet in an edge rusher.
- Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #92. He wrote, "The 6-4, 250-pound Leo bench pressed 375 pounds and can do 30 pull-ups. This offseason, the former high school wide receiver vertical-jumped 34 inches, did a 10-5 broad jump and clocked a 4.41 shuttle."
- He shows good speed and closing burst when blitzing.
- He has a lethal spin move and the pure speed to close quickly.
- Showed initial quickness and good flexibility to dip and bend. He has active hands and suddenness to his movements, demonstrating the ability to counter inside.
- Leo shows good ability in coverage, with the agility to mirror backs.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Locates the ball but takes circuitous routes to go get to it. Should use power and long arms to take on and disengage from blocks. Inefficient with his angles.
- Leo also shows some stiffness when trying to bend the edge, often getting pushed past the pocket — Leo seems more comfortable countering back inside.
- Generally an effective open-field tackler but doesn't wrap up consistently
