Tarheeb Still from Timber Creek High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Still opted to join Maryland.In 2020 as a freshman Still saw action in 4 games and played a total of 270 snaps at cornerback for the Terrapins. He recorded 18 tackles, 2 assists, while adding 9 stops. In coverage Still notched up 8 pass breakups, no interceptions, and QB rating when targetted of 68.9.
As a sophomore in 2021 he played in 13 games and logged 832 snaps for the Terrapins. He made 50 tackles, 9 assists, and had 12 stops. - Still has good size and is a fluid mover, capable of mirroring quickness underneath
- Instinctive, adept at reading routes and anticipating throws, and strong in zone coverage.
- Flashes some physicality as a hitter.
- Does a good job getting his head around in time when playing with his back to the line of scrimmage. Has the ability to cover quickness underneath.
- Effective out of the slot, showing the instincts and quickness to mirror when the receiver has a two-way go. He has good instincts and awareness when playing off, showing good route recognition and anticipation when breaking on the ball.
- Has the fluidity, speed and quick feet to come down and defend slot receivers in man coverage. Still also does a nice job breaking down in space as a tackler after the catch.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Will slip off tackles and needs to finish more consistently.
- NFL quarterbacks may take advantage of his aggressiveness in man and zone to eye up short routes and go over the top
- Struggles to transition and drive out of his backpedal when playing off-man. Like a lot of physical corners at the collegiate level, he’s too handsy downfield at this point.
