Draft Profile: Bio
Kameryn Crawford, who was born Kameryn Fountain and changed his name during the 2025 season, is from Mobile, Alabama, and played at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta. He did not play football until 2021, then made 56 tackles and seven sacks in 2022 and was a 2023 region co-defensive player of the year who also played basketball. A four-star recruit and the No. 7 edge rusher in the class, according to 247Sports, he was an Under Armour All-American and chose USC over Tennessee and South Carolina.

Crawford enrolled at USC in 2024 and played in eight games with four starts, making 19 tackles and two tackles for loss, with a sack against Rutgers and five tackles in the Las Vegas Bowl against Texas A&M. In 2025 he played in 13 games with eight starts, making 41 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss with 21 pressures and 25 run stops, and he was named to the Big Ten fall all-academic team. He closed the season with two sacks and a career-high seven tackles in the Alamo Bowl against TCU.

Crawford entered 2026 as an every-down player. He had a sack in the win over Washington and five tackles and half a sack in the 30-18 win over No. 2 Ohio State on 31 October, and he has 23 pressures and 17 run stops in nine games for a 7-2 team.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Has 23 pressures in nine games this season
  • Had two sacks among 2.5 tackles for loss in the Alamo Bowl against TCU
  • Strong run defender with 25 run stops in 2025
  • Former four-star recruit and Under Armour All-American who is still developing
  • Academic honors point to a coachable, intelligent player
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Missed eight tackles this season after two in 2025
  • Light frame that powerful tackles can control in the run game
  • Average timed speed limits his bend around the corner
  • Only two sacks this season despite an every-down role
Scouting Report: Summary
Crawford is a young, developing edge defender whose production has grown each season at USC. He made 21 pressures and 25 run stops in 2025, closed that season with two sacks and seven tackles in the Alamo Bowl, and has 23 pressures in nine games this season as an every-down player. He did not play football until 2021, so his growth since then suggests there is more to come.

His 2026 season has included strong moments for a 7-2 team. He had a sack in the win over Washington and five tackles and half a sack in the 30-18 win over No. 2 Ohio State. He has 17 run stops this season, and he has been named to the Big Ten fall all-academic team, which points to a coachable player who can handle a complex scheme. He has played in all nine games this season.

However, he has not turned his pressures into sacks, with two this season despite an every-down role. He has missed eight tackles this season after only two in 2025, and his frame is light for an edge, so powerful tackles can control him in the run game. His timed speed is average, which limits his ability to bend around the corner, and he relies on effort and length more than a refined rush plan. Teams will also want to see more sacks in November.

Overall, Crawford is a young, ascending edge defender whose pedigree, late start in football and steady growth give him real upside. He projects as a fifth-round edge defender with the ceiling of a rotational starter and the floor of a developmental pass rusher. As a junior, he could also return to USC in 2027 to add strength and refine his rush plan. His academic honors and steady growth suggest he will keep improving.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
