- Good instincts and anticipation reads and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.
- Explodes out of his backpedal and has the hands and coordination to force interceptions.
- Jones tracks the ball well and does a nice job of getting his head around in plenty of time to avoid flags.
- A coordinated athlete with good footwork and balance. A heady cover player with above-average · feel and anticipation in space.
- Tracks the ball well and has the natural ball skills for forcing turnovers.
- Best fit is in a zone scheme considering Jones lacks the vertical speed to shadow elite receivers.
Weaknesses
- Doesn’t have the kind of fluidity needed to mirror quicker receivers underneath.
- Lacks the quick feet to mirror underneath and is slow to transition out of his backpedal and close on the ball
- NFL teams are going to test him deep early on, and he’ll also be prone to flags since he’s grabby downfield.
