Scouting Report: Strengths
- His vision is outstanding, and Smith has an innate understanding of when to go and when to sit back and wait for blocks to develop. Smith thrives as a one-cut back
- He is elite as a receiver. He runs routes as well as most receivers and has natural hands, snatching the ball away from his body.
- Does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind.
- A smooth, loose athlete with very good speed,he is a weapon in space.
- He has very good vision and a knack for picking out cut-back lanes and then breaking offchunks of yardage.
- Smith has the flexible ankles to turn the corner and get around the perimeter when the opportunity presents itself.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Too indecisive and hesitant at the line of scrimmage.
- Smith tends to get too upright at times, sacrificing power.
- Does not always show a burst in the box, anticipates contact. Can get I turned easily on draws and inside isolation plays, shuffling and failing to restart momentum. Power in his cuts has been inconsistent. Tripped upon first contact.
