Scouting Report: Strengths
- He’s a pure athlete, loose-limbed and flexible. Shapen has the speed to pick up yardage in scramble situations.
- Ball placement is a strength. He has the natural instincts to make plays when forced to improvise.
- Picks up yards with his legs when needed.
- He’s a threat with his legs - his play-fakes are outstanding, and Shapen has the ability to manipulate safeties with his eyes.
- Sprays the ball anywhere on the field, especially when given a pocket from which to deliver. Will step up into pocket while looking downfield, reset his feet and deliver.
- Shapen plays with a confident demeanor and has the athleticism to move out of the pocket and create plays out of structure.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Undersized and short in stature - looks diminutive in the huddle.
- Shapen has to clean up his throwing motion when he’s on the move. Shapen was often too quick to pull the ball down and take off, and Shapen seemed to have trouble sifting through moving parts in the middle of the field.
- His arm is good but not great, and he loses accuracy and velocity when he is moved off his spot.

For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
