Draft Profile: Bio
Aycen Stevens made 160 career tackles as a linebacker at Decatur Central in Indianapolis, where he sat inside the Rivals top 40 at linebacker for his class. He also played basketball and ran track.

He redshirted at Virginia Tech in 2023, switched to the defensive line in 2024 and spent two seasons as a reserve, playing in 25 games without a start and making 14 tackles in 2025.

Stevens won the starting left end job in 2026, became the current keeper of the Hokies' lunch pail and has turned into a leading pass rusher in the ACC. He has eight sacks and three forced fumbles in eight games, including a forced fumble in the season opener against VMI and multiple sacks with another forced fumble in the 34-24 win over Georgia Tech on 17 October. He also has 19 run stops.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Rare get-off for a big-framed end, with eight sacks in eight games
  • Forced three fumbles, including one in the win over Georgia Tech
  • Strong against the run as well, with 19 stops this season
  • Converted linebacker who uses his movement skills on stunts and twists
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • First-year starter after two seasons as a reserve
  • Production has cooled, with no sacks at Cal or Clemson
  • Several sacks came against weaker opponents such as VMI and Old Dominion
  • Hand use and counter moves are still developing
  • Class status is listed differently across sources, so his 2027 entry needs confirming
Scouting Report: Summary
Stevens has gone from a career backup to one of the breakout pass rushers in the ACC. He fires off the ball quickly for his size, finishes at the quarterback and has turned sacks into turnovers, with three forced fumbles, while also holding up well against the run.

However, the sample is short. This is his first year as a starter, some of his production came against VMI and Old Dominion, and Cal and Clemson kept him off the quarterback. His hands and counters still need work.

Overall, Stevens has the quickness and production to earn a long look. He projects as a priority free agent end with upside, and his value would rise with a strong finish to the season.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
