A three-star out of Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale, Moten signed with Miami in Mario Cristobal's 2022 class and redshirted as a true freshman before working his way into the interior rotation. He grew into a disruptive sub-package presence over the next two seasons, flashing the quick hands and get-off that scouts noted on tape.As an upperclassman in 2025, Moten posted four sacks, 27 quarterback pressures and nineteen run stops across fourteen games from the interior, with 22 total tackles. He saved one of his best afternoons for Virginia Tech, where he registered two sacks, and announced a return to Miami for another season as a fixture along the defensive front. He came up through a Cardinal Gibbons program known for producing Power Four talent, and his quickness off the snap stood out in a deep Miami rotation across four seasons on campus.
