A four-star out of Nolensville High near Nashville, Wein piled up thirteen sacks as a senior and signed with Oklahoma, then waited his turn, redshirting in 2023 and recording just two tackles in 2024.The breakout came in his third year. As a 2025 starter in Brent Venables' defense, Wein led the Sooners with fifteen tackles for loss and seven sacks, adding 36 pressures, an interception, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal.
He registered a sack, a forced fumble and a blocked kick in a 23-21 upset of No. 4 Alabama, and added four tackles, two for loss and his first career interception against South Carolina. The disruptive season earned him second-team All-SEC honors from the coaches and an SEC Defensive Player of the Week nod. The fifteen tackles for loss ranked among the SEC's leaders and capped a sudden rise from a two-tackle backup to one of the league's more disruptive interior rushers.

He pressured Tennessee seven times in one road game and backed it with a four-pressure, four-stop afternoon against South Carolina. The get-off is the calling card, and it shows up against both pass sets and pulling guards.The frame and the polish keep the grade grounded. At 276 pounds he gives ground when tackles get a clean latch on early downs, the defends the run a step behind his pass rush, and the hand counters are still developing when the speed rush gets stonewalled.
