Scouting Report: Strengths
- Aware in the red zone, stays on the back line to take away fade throws. Capable of making quarterbacks pay for late throws.
- Strong hands to make plays on the ball, effective blitzer who shows well-coached technique and awareness.
- Has enough speed and fluidity to come down and guard slot receivers and even some tight ends in man coverage.
- Quicker than Fields is fast but has a burst to close in zone coverage and plays physical at the line in man.
- Has the change-of-direction ability to mirror underneath but did solid work out of press and off coverage.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Gets sloppy with his backpedal when playing off-man and seems to lack the instincts to close on the ball.
- The majority of the time last season, Fields was able to physically overwhelm opposing receivers early in the down, a scenario that won’t play out as often against NFL receivers.
- While he has man coverage skills, he can struggle when sitting back in zone. He’s not instinctive and struggles reading downfield routes and tracking the deep ball.
- Tends to play conservatively and give too much cushion when playing off.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
