Draft Profile: Bio
Makari Vickers from Robert F Munroe Day High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 4-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Vickers opted to join Oklahoma after being heavily recruited.

In 2023 as a freshman Vickers saw action in 7 games and played a total of 61 snaps at cornerback for the Sooners. He recorded just 5 tackles, 4 assists, while adding 2 stops. In coverage Vickers notched up one pass breakup, no interceptions, and a disapointing QB rating when targetted of 122.9.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Vickers can flip his hips and run, with good top-end speed and the length to make plays on the ball.
  • Gets an effective jam on the receiver and has loose enough hips to turn and run.
  • Stout and feisty. Will engage, shed and securely wrap the ballcarrier. Very fluid hips, backpedal and change-of-direction agility.
  • Trusts his eyes with very good awareness. Has very good reaction skills to break quickly on the ball.
  • Explodes out of his backpedal and has the hands and coordination to force interceptions.
  • Vickers has good size and is a fluid mover, capable of mirroring quickness underneath
  • Plays with the natural balance and ultra-quick feet to mirror underneath, and he’s tremendous at reading routes and reading quarterbacks.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Holds the ball loosely. Inconsistent in run support. Average tackler
  • Like a lot of collegiate corners, Vickers has a tendency to get grabby, something that will have to be coached out of him.
  • Physicality comes and goes when facing the run. Vickers doesn’t show much in the way of take-on skills once he meets a blocker

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
