Draft Profile: Bio
Maddux Madsen threw for 4,044 yards and 48 touchdowns as a junior at American Fork High School in Utah and topped 3,000 yards with 38 scores the next fall. He drew three stars from recruiting services and was also a standout baseball player who hit .455 and was the 2022 Class 5A player of the year.Madsen played sparingly in his first two seasons at Boise State, then started all 14 games in 2024, leading the Mountain West with 3,018 passing yards and 23 touchdowns as the Broncos made the College Football Playoff field. In 2025 he threw for 2,334 yards and 18 touchdowns and was offensive MVP of the league title game, though he fought an ankle problem and was carted off with a right foot injury against Fresno State on 1 November.
Healthy again in 2026, Madsen has 15 touchdown passes against one interception in eight games. He threw three scoring passes in the 34-27 loss at Oregon and went 17 of 21 for 244 yards and two touchdowns in the 37-18 win over Utah State. He is a Campbell Trophy finalist.
Scouting Report: Strengths
- Fifteen touchdown passes against one interception in eight games
- Went 17 of 21 for 244 yards and two scores against Utah State
- Threw three touchdown passes in the September loss at Oregon
- Guided Boise State into the College Football Playoff in 2024
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Carted off with a right foot injury against Fresno State in 2025
- Played through an ankle problem for much of the 2025 season
- Nine interceptions in 2025 showed some risky decisions
- Sacked three times in the September opener at Oregon
- Fifth-year senior who will enter the league at an advanced age
Scouting Report: Summary
Madsen is a seasoned, efficient quarterback who has won plenty of games at Boise State. He protects the ball, with one interception this season, and he has performed against strong opponents, as his three touchdowns at Oregon showed. However, he dealt with ankle and foot injuries in 2025, and he is light for a quarterback. He also threw nine interceptions in 2025 and is a fifth-year player.
Overall, Madsen is a smart, accurate game manager without standout tools. He projects as a priority free agent with a chance to land a backup role.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank
in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance.
For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.
*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
