Scouting Report: Strengths
- Martin has an excellent feel for working off blockers and knowing how and when to counter as the play goes on.
- Sacks and pressures are product of hustle. Gives effort on every play. Holds the point with length and strong upper body.
- He’s very good with his hands, a technician with the violence, quickness, and the long arms to ward off blockers. Martin has a great motor and enough creativity to make plays late in the down as a pass rusher.
- He’s very instinctive when it comes to countering and solid with overall hand usage.
- He’s a high-motor player, and Martin shows good enough hand use, as well as a tight spin move, to win as an edge rusher.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- He’s going to struggle at the point of attack. As a pass rusher, Martin lacks the ideal length to ward off blockers and too often allows linemen to get into his chest.
- While he moves well laterally, he doesn’t always get there in pursuit.
- Plays tall and gets upright off the snap. Wins with upper-body strength and needs to focus on leverage.
