Scouting Report: Strengths
- Outstanding on reach blocks, showing good initial quickness and flexibility to seal the backside. He’s a heady player who is quick to recognize and react to twists and stunts up front, and Ekiyor shows a good sense of timing on combo blocks.
- Consistently keeps his feet sliding while maintaining power when dealing with speed, often sending speed rushers flying past the pocket
- Above-average football smarts and general intelligence. Plays with a nasty streak. Solid character and work ethic.
- When his hand placement is right, he has the strong grip that allows him to manhandle opponents. Ekiyor plays with a mean streak and keeps the nastiness going through the whistle.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Is a little too much of a waist bender, and Ekiyor doesn’t play with ideal power and functional strength. Most concerning - he often gets caught dropping his head, a bad habit that will have to be corrected.
- Has average height with a narrow base out of his stance. Needs to get stronger in his lower half to anchor at the point of attack.
- His kick slide is inconsistent, and he’ll often set too high
- Not physically imposing and has average overall strength. Upper body gets over his feet too often and he easily loses his balance.
