Scouting Report: Strengths
- He’s patient in the backfield, willing to wait out his blocking and not panicking, and Bailey consistently spots cutback lanes and takes advantage.
- Bailey has very good vision and a knack for picking out cut-back lanes and then breaking offchunks of yardage.
- His initial burst is excellent, and he’s capable of running out of a traditional setup or taking the ball lined up next to a quarterback in shotgun.
- He has the straight-line speed to outrun angles, and his flexibility allows him to turn the corner on the perimeter and stay near top speed as he does; he’s especially effective on fly sweeps.
- An excellent blocker on the outside, he also adds value in the running game.
- He’s decisive once he locates a hole and gets through quickly. His ability to accelerate and his good top-end speed allow him to outrun angles, and he has the quickness and lateral agility to make defenders miss in space.
- Bailey moves at a different speed than most of the players on the field. His initial burst and acceleration once the ball is in his hands are special.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Does not always read blocks behind pulling guards. May not be big enough to move piles at the next level and has a tendency to bury his head too soon.
- Too indecisive and hesitant at the line of scrimmage.
- As a runner, Bailey too often looks to bounce outside and make the big play, rather than pick his way through traffic.
