Davonte Brown from American Heritage High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Brown opted to join UCF.In 2020 as a freshman Brown saw action in 9 games and played a total of 411 snaps at cornerback for the Knights. He recorded 22 tackles, one assist, while adding 2 stops. In coverage Brown notched up one pass breakup, no interceptions, and a disapointing QB rating when targetted of 133.1.
As a sophomore in 2021 he played in 13 games and logged 763 snaps for the Knights. He made 26 tackles, 8 assists, and had 11 stops. In coverage he totaled 7 pass breakups, one interception, and QB rating when targetted of 62.1.
In 2022 as a junior Brown played in 13 games and contributed on 711 snaps. He chalked up 26 tackles, 3 assists, and added 5 stops. In the secondary Brown forced 3 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and gave up QB rating when targetted of 75.3.

- Trusts his eyes with very good awareness. Has very good reaction skills to break quickly on the ball.
- Fluid mover with decent speed and his length allows him to cover effectively downfield
- Extremely aggressive to come up and put his body in traffic to make tackles.
- Savvy cover skills to recognize and anticipate routes. Understands what's coming and has good ball skills.
- Long and lean and a very fluid mover. Brown shows good route recognition and the ability to transition out of his backpedal and close on the ball fast.
- Has quick feet and excellent change-of-direction ability, capable of mirroring quickness underneath.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Might not be the kind of pure shutdown corner that the top prospects in this draft have the skill set to become, but offers scheme versatility and the ability to slide inside and cover the slot.
- Is undersized and underpowered when lining up in press coverage. Brown simply lacks power in his punch.
- Fails to maintain inside technique in man coverage. Not a press corner.
