Scouting Report: Strengths
- Shows a natural feel for setting up blockers and getting them off-balance. His hands are active and violent, and Broughton quickly disengages with blockers and counters when his initial move stalls.
- Lower than offensive lineman on every short-yardage play. Good agility and ability to change direction for his size.
- A high-motor pass rusher with good quickness, Broughton has a compact but wide frame and long arms.
- He has the lateral agility and balance to cover two gaps, and he shows some good closing burst when moving down the line in pursuit.
- He’s very good with his hands, a technician with the violence, quickness, and the long arms to ward off blockers. Broughton has a great motor and enough creativity to make plays late in the down as a pass rusher.
- Agile and nimble footwork with smooth body control - very light on his feet. Fights through the whistle and is always chirping and going at full speed - love his effort and determination.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Not a quick-twitch player. Won't consistently threaten the edge. Few explosive qualities and lacks great initial burst or overall range for the position.
- Broughton lacks overall physicality and often plays with poor balance.
- While he’s a decent lateral mover, Broughton doesn’t show great closing speed when he has to chase in pursuit.
