Michael Wiley from Strake Jesuit High School was rated a 3-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Wiley joined Arizona.In 2019 as a freshman Wiley saw action in 11 games for the Wildcats as he ran for only 106 yards on 31 attempts for only 3.4 yards per carry, with no TDs, with one fumble. As a receiver he made 18 receptions for 165 yards.
As a sophomore in 2020 he played 5 games. and rushed for 222 yards on 31 carries for an elite 7.2 ypc, with 3 TDs, with no fumbles. In the passing game he pulled in only 8 receptions for 33 yards.
In 2021 as a junior Wiley saw action in 11 games for the Wildcats. He ran for 301 yards on 92 attempts for only 3.3 ypc, with 2 TDs, with 3 fumbles. As a receiver he made 33 receptions for 297 yards.

- Has sneaky speed but won't always get to the corner. Runs low through the hole with size and strength to move the chains as an interior runner. Has a strong stiff-arm and spin move to slip defenders. Best in goal-line situations finds another level of determination. Good recognition as a runner and pass blocker. Natural receiver with versatility as a route-runner.
- He combines good speed with his size, and Wiley accelerates off the line better than most big receivers.
- Possesses quick feet and straight-line speed but doesn't have the elite burst to be a constant big-play threat. Improving patience as a runner, following pulling guards and makes good decisions on his cut.
- Does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind.
- Wiley finishes runs well and flashes the ability to get small and squeeze through traffic.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
- Wiley isn’t going to overwhelm opposing defensive backs with speed and athleticism.
- Wiley sometimes get too upright and fails to run behind his pads.
- Loses momentum when Wiley gears down to change direction and it takes him a few steps to accelerate back to full speed. Appears indecisive; will dance too much at the line of scrimmage. Lacks natural playmaking ability.
