Draft Profile: Bio

Benjamin Yurosek is a talented tight end originally from Bakersfield, California. He played at Bakersfield Christian High School, where he was a four-star recruit and recorded 49 catches for 741 yards and 11 touchdowns in his senior year. Yurosek also played defense and made 81 tackles with 22 sacks. His high school career was highlighted by leading his team to the CIF Division 3-A State Championship.

At Stanford, Yurosek made an immediate impact, playing in all six games as a freshman. In his sophomore year, he led all Pac-12 tight ends with 658 receiving yards on 43 receptions, earning multiple All-Pac-12 honors. He continued to perform well, with 445 yards on 49 receptions in his junior year and 239 yards on 16 receptions during a senior season shortened by a shoulder injury. Throughout his college career, Yurosek received accolades including All-Pac-12 honors, the Deswarte-Eller Award, and the Frank Rehm Award.

In 2024, Yurosek transferred to Georgia to play his final college season, aiming to prove himself in the competitive SEC. Despite limited action due to injury in 2023, he showcased his skills with nine catches for 138 yards in Stanford's season opener against Hawaii. Yurosek looks to leverage his experience and versatility at Georgia, preparing for a successful transition to the NFL.

Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Excellent hands, consistently catches away from his body, and secures the ball in contested situations.
  • Great burst off the snap, which helps him quickly create separation from defenders.
  • Versatile, can line up in multiple positions including in-line, slot, and out wide.
  • Strong acceleration and ability to sustain speed in the open field.
  • Reliable blocker with good technique and understanding of angles.
  • High football IQ, able to read defenses and find soft spots in coverage.
  • Effective in high-pressure situations, able to maintain composure and make plays.
  • Shows excellent body control and ability to adjust to poorly thrown balls.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Lacks elite top-end speed, which may limit his ability to consistently stretch the field.
  • Needs to add more weight and strength to compete effectively at the NFL level.
  • Route running can be inconsistent, and sometimes struggles with precision and sharp cuts.
  • Can be overpowered by stronger defenders in blocking situations.
  • Occasionally loses focus and drops easy passes.
Scouting Report: Summary

Benjamin Yurosek brings a strong set of skills to the table as he transitions to the NFL. His excellent hands, ability to make contested catches, and versatility in lining up across multiple positions will be key assets. Yurosek's athleticism and football IQ are clear strengths, making him a reliable target in the passing game and a capable blocker when called upon.

However, Yurosek faces challenges that he must address to reach his full potential. Adding more weight and strength is crucial for him to hold up against NFL defenders, particularly as a blocker. Additionally, he needs to refine his route-running technique and improve his consistency to avoid lapses in concentration that have led to occasional drops.

Projecting to the next level, Yurosek has the tools to become a solid contributor as a TE2 with the potential to develop into a starting role. If he can enhance his physicality and sharpen his skills, Yurosek can emerge as a dependable playmaker at the next level. His ability to adapt and grow in the competitive environment of the SEC bodes well for his transition to the pros, where he can leverage his experience and versatility to make an impact.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
