Somebody took the Raiders to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.
Jayden Daniels is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
They will need Bills to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. That Jackson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Fair-plus on T'Vondre Sweat, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
A straight-up fair deal on Matt Goncalves at Round 4, Pick 13, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They did well to land Tommy Eichenberg in pick 147, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Drake Nugent at pick No. 197 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Jha'Quan Jackson was still sitting there in No. 210, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Keaton Bills in the 221st pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
