The Bears worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

The trade table was a mismatch, and the Bears were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The veteran additions, Quentin Johnston chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes. The skill positions did well by the weekend.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
