FutureA+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Patriots for Majors: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Jake Majors slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at the 223rd overall pick. Highway robbery.
Wedig has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick39
Rnd2
Luther Burden III
They will replay Luther Burden III at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick43
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at slot 43 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick70
Rnd3
Jack Nelson
They reached a country mile for Jack Nelson at pick 70, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick80
Rnd3
Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker in No. 80 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick106
Rnd4
Maxwell Hairston
A clean, defensible pick in the 106th pick with a little surplus value in Maxwell Hairston. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick141
Rnd5
Danny Stutsman
They barely believed it either: Danny Stutsman still on the board at the 141st overall pick. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick221
Rnd7
Miles Frazier
Miles Frazier slipping to pick No. 221 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick223
Rnd7
Jake Majors
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jake Majors reach the 223rd overall pick and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
Pick235
Rnd7
Trey Wedig
Trey Wedig at No. 235 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
