The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.
The Klubnik pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Circle this one: Landon Jackson at pick 57 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A slide stopped in pick No. 86, with Fernando Carmona worth more than the price. The roster fit checks out.
Malachi Moore slipping to Round 3, Pick 29 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Lander Barton in the 115th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Cade Klubnik in the 121st overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy little value on Logan Brown in the 152nd overall pick, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They took Tez Johnson at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Somehow Antwane Wells Jr. was still sitting there in pick 179, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Amari Kight at the 185th pick is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
The board had Garrett Dellinger higher than Round 6, Pick 32, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Logan Parr in slot 202 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Tony Grimes at No. 213 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Phillip Webb in pick No. 217 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
