The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a F.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

So much rides on Michael Penix Jr. that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. Reaching for Jennings left real value on the table behind him.

They banked enough surplus on Hunter to cover a lot of smaller sins. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

In short, a weekend the front office will want to forget in a hurry.
