The Raiders ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Eichenberg. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They went early on Brenden Rice in pick 59, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Christian Mahogany in Round 3, Pick 22 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Khyree Jackson at the 96th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Leonard Taylor III at slot 105, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Darius Robinson in pick No. 113 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tommy Eichenberg at pick 147 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The board had cheaper options than Jared Wiley at slot 195, and it noticed. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jawhar Jordan at Round 7, Pick 1 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Steele Chambers at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
A reach for Mark Perry in the 234th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It adds depth where they could use a little.
