The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on J.J. McCarthy, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. Getting Simpson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
