The rest of the league will want that one back. Tre Harris tumbling to the Vikings in slot 241 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Vikings indulged a want in Bullard while a need in safety, offensive lineman and other spots stayed open.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
They bypassed pressing needs at safety, offensive lineman and other spots to take Javon Bullard, a defensive back that was not the priority.
They did well to land J.J. McCarthy in pick No. 47, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Blake Corum at slot 75 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No edge and no loss on Steve Linton in No. 179; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 241 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
