DaSarcasticGuy DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Bears. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Bears did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to interior defensive lineman, which was the need that mattered most. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The Newton pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Marvin Harrison Jr. at pick No. 1 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick9
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
Olumuyiwa Fashanu in pick 9 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick75
Rnd3
Josh Newton
Josh Newton at the 75th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick118
Rnd4
Mohamed Kamara
Nothing to complain about; Mohamed Kamara went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122
Rnd4
Javon Foster
No edge and no loss on Javon Foster in Round 4, Pick 22; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick146
Rnd5
Dallin Holker
Dallin Holker at the 146th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick194
Rnd6
De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
