A costly weekend of dealing drags the Cowboys to a D-.

The Cowboys did not so much draft Trevin Wallace as overpay for him, 42 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Kamara pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots still on the board.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Brooks that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, wide receiver very much included.

Jared Verse in pick 8 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick27 Rnd1 Troy Fautanu
In the 27th pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
A premium they did not need to pay, Zach Frazier a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
Jonathon Brooks slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 24 is lovely value for the running back. The roster fit checks out.

They paid a round early for Khyree Jackson in the Round 3 slot, more than the board wanted. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
