Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Williams in the fold, and a B- for the Bears. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Caleb Williams is the Bears' quarterback, full stop.
The Braswell steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In No. 1 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
No edge and no loss on Rome Odunze in the 9th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick75
Rnd3
Chris Braswell
You do not let an edge rusher like Chris Braswell reach the 75th pick and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick122
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Fisher in Round 4, Pick 22. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
