Killa11 DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall

FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Steelers a B-. The one they had to fix is still broken. The Steelers left interior defensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The cost of the Travis reach is exactly the players who went right after him. On value alone, Jackson makes the weekend a net positive.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Cooper DeJean
In the 21st overall pick they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53
Rnd2
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
They paid a round early for Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in No. 53, more than the board wanted. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick85
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany in slot 85 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick120
Rnd4
Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis in the Round 4 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick121
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
Nice patience on Khyree Jackson, who had no business lasting to pick No. 121. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick199
Rnd6
Dominic Lovett
No edge and no loss on Dominic Lovett in pick 199; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
