The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Mims: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Amarius Mims slide 20 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Wright lower, and that gap is the story. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Terrion Arnold
In the 25th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41 Rnd2 Amarius Mims
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Amarius Mims in Round 2, Pick 9, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick57 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
They paid up for Payton Wilson at the 57th pick when waiting would have done the job. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88 Rnd3 Audric Estime
They jumped the gun on Audric Estime, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jaden Hicks
They liked Jaden Hicks enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 92. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick125 Rnd4 Beaux Limmer
Beaux Limmer at pick No. 125 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jaylen Wright
Value said wait; Jaylen Wright in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick203 Rnd6 Christian Jones
They let Christian Jones come to them and pounced at No. 203. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick217 Rnd6 Joshua Cephus
A conviction pick on Joshua Cephus at the 217th pick that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219 Rnd6 Mark Perry
A premium they did not need to pay, Mark Perry a notch or two before his time. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick246 Rnd7 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at No. 246 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
