Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings let Jones fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

When a board-topper like Myles Jones slides to No. 230, you do not overthink it, and the Vikings did not. No fireworks, but a solid B.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Jared Verse · DE-EDGE · rank 16
In the 11th overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.10 · Pick 42 · J.J. McCarthy · QB · rank 46
J.J. McCarthy in pick 42 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.8 · Pick 108 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 107
They paid sticker price for Jaden Hicks in the 108th pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.30 · Pick 130 · Kris Abrams-Draine · CB · rank 119
The board had Kris Abrams-Draine higher than No. 130, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R5.12 · Pick 148 · Dallin Holker · TE · rank 138
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dallin Holker at pick No. 148 is the proof. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.24 · Pick 160 · Keith Randolph Jr. · DL-EDGE · rank 150
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 24, with Keith Randolph Jr. worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.29 · Pick 165 · Layden Robinson · OG · rank 163
They took Layden Robinson at par in slot 165, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R6.4 · Pick 179 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 179
Isaiah Davis at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.10 · Pick 230 · Myles Jones · CB · rank 204
A cornerback of that caliber at the 230th pick is the definition of value, full stop. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
