Start where it matters. The Vikings took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It lands right in the middle: a C-, no more, no less.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The McClellan steal is the beam this whole class leans on. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Jayden Daniels at slot 5 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Cam Hart in the 130th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Ty'Ron Hopper at pick 148 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
LaDarius Henderson at pick No. 160 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No drama and no debate, Zion Tupuola-Fetui went about where he belonged in No. 165. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kitan Oladapo in Round 6, Pick 4 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Jase McClellan at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
