Start where it matters. The Raiders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C+.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Travis has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 5 they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Xavier Worthy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A tidy little value on Will Shipley in Round 4, Pick 12, a step better than break-even. The roster fit checks out.
Sataoa Laumea slipping to pick 128 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jacob Cowing in the 142nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had cheaper options than Jordan Travis at the 147th overall pick, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nice patience on Jaylan Ford, who had no business lasting to slot 207. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Myles Harden in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Josh Proctor is a better player than the Round 7 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
