Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Bears left with their quarterback, and a D- to match.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

Drake Maye gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Benson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Drake Maye
In the 4th pick they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick 9 they get a true top target at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick20 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In slot 20 they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin in pick No. 35 is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick51 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
The board had cheaper options than Zach Frazier at the Round 2 slot, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick66 Rnd3 Malachi Corley
The board had Malachi Corley higher than Round 3, Pick 2, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
Pick71 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in No. 71 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick75 Rnd3 Trey Benson
They paid up for Trey Benson at the 75th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick110 Rnd4 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter in pick 110 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
A premium they did not need to pay, Ben Sinnott a notch or two before his time. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
