The phones were a trap the Raiders kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.
The whole projection now runs through Jayden Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Getting Jones where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
A tidy little value on Tyler Guyton in the Round 2 slot, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Nothing to complain about; Cooper Beebe went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A quiet steal in pick 112: Khyree Jackson for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Tommy Eichenberg went about where he belonged in slot 119. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They took Braelon Allen at par in the 150th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No edge and no loss on Christian Jones in the 190th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Steal is underselling it; Sheridan Jones at No. 234 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
