The Raiders treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 149 on Ricky Pearsall a full 51 spots early. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The Eichenberg pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with cornerback, quarterback and other spots still on the board. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Fiske steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 12 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They took Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A surprising call. With cornerback, quarterback and other spots still to address, they spent the 76th overall pick on Tommy Eichenberg, a linebacker they were not short of.
Jaden Hicks in No. 112 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They reached into another round for Ricky Pearsall, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the 190th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Reuben Fatheree II at the Round 7 slot, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
