They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Torrence. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Every board in the league had Boyd lower, and that gap is the story.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Amarius Mims at the Round 2 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good price on Zak Zinter in slot 112, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Khristian Boyd. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Ro Torrence at the 208th pick for years; that is how good the value is. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Frank Gore Jr. at No. 223 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
By-the-book stuff, Trevin Wallace at the 229th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
