The Raiders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Miller Moss at the 71st pick regardless, 102 picks early.
They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They banked enough surplus on Coleman to cover a lot of smaller sins.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
Emery Jones Jr. at pick 7 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They reached into another round for Nick Emmanwori, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They reached a country mile for Miller Moss at Round 3, Pick 7, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
DeMonte Capehart in the 103rd overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jonah Coleman slid further than he should have, and No. 135 is lovely value for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Davin Vann well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
By-the-book stuff, Gavin Bartholomew at Round 7, Pick 7 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
