The war room fell hard for Gavin Bartholomew, and it showed at pick No. 212: 169 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. A mixed bag that lands at C+.
The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Kevin Winston Jr. at Round 2, Pick 6 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A real head-scratcher, Shemar Stewart in the Round 3 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Emery Jones Jr. in the 73rd overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Elijah Roberts in pick No. 105 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.

A big swing on Trevor Etienne at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. It fills a real need, too.
Gavin Bartholomew at the 212th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A wild overpay on Marcus Mbow in Round 6, Pick 39, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Akili Arnold well ahead of where he belonged. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
