Whoever sat across the table from the Raiders should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Hart has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Raiders paired the rookies with proven help, Justin Fields leading the way.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Amarius Mims. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
T'Vondre Sweat in slot 57 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A straight-up fair deal on Johnny Wilson at No. 77, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Zak Zinter at par in Round 3, Pick 28, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They talked themselves into Cam Hart at the 112th overall pick, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Braelon Allen in the 150th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Jones at pick 190 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Fair-plus on Jared Wiley, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No drama and no debate, Mark Perry went about where he belonged in the 234th pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
