The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jalen Milroe, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
The Dumervil pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Igbinosun.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st overall pick they get a long-term answer under center, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
No drama and no debate, Dylan Sampson went about where he belonged in slot 52. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They talked themselves into Parker Brailsford at the 83rd pick, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Davison Igbinosun is a better player than No. 124 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Logan Brown in pick No. 158 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A big swing on Collin Oliver at the Round 6 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A real head-scratcher, Tim Smith in Round 6, Pick 37 is miles ahead of his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
No edge and no loss on Kyren Lacy in pick 214; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Marcus Dumervil in the 234th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
