The one they had to fix is still broken. The Raiders left wide receiver untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul. The bottom line is a respectable B.
On value alone, Thomas makes the weekend a net positive. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Their trades came out a wash either way.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get an island corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
No drama and no debate, Chris Braswell went about where he belonged in slot 44. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A quiet steal in pick 77: Kiran Amegadjie for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A slide stopped in pick No. 113, with Christian Mahogany worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jordan Travis slid further than he should have, and the 164th overall pick is lovely value for the quarterback. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jaylan Ford slipping to No. 210 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
JD Bertrand in Round 7, Pick 1 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Nathan Thomas in slot 225, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board had Garret Greenfield higher than pick 227, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
