Las Vegas Raiders

A passer of the future in Sanders, and a B, for the Raiders.

Start where it matters. The Raiders took Shedeur Sanders to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

However the rest shakes out, Horton at that price is a win they earned. If Stackhouse pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.30 · Pick 30 · Shedeur Sanders · QB · rank 14
In the 30th pick they get a franchise quarterback, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Dontay Corleone · DT · rank 51
They went early on Dontay Corleone in the 39th overall pick, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
R2.30 · Pick 62 · Jordan Hancock · CB · rank 63
Jordan Hancock at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Nazir Stackhouse · DT · rank 94
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Nazir Stackhouse well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.7 · Pick 103 · Tory Horton · WR · rank 70
Tory Horton at No. 103 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.7 · Pick 135 · Wyatt Milum · OT · rank 110
A offensive lineman of that caliber at slot 135 is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.7 · Pick 167 · Will Lee III · CB · rank 158
Will Lee III slid further than he should have, and pick No. 167 is lovely value for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.7 · Pick 199 · Ricky White III · WR · rank 186
They read the board right and Ricky White III was the payoff at Round 7, Pick 7. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
