Some picks age like wine; Jalon Daniels at the 19th overall pick will need to, sitting 203 spots clear of his grade. The board sounded every alarm, and the F is the fallout.
The Moore pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The whole projection now runs through Jalon Daniels; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.
There is no spinning it; the board won this weekend going away.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get protection for the quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid. The biggest hole, addressed.
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get their guy under center for the next decade, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
They reached into another round for Elic Ayomanor, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Clay Webb well ahead of where he belonged. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A big swing on Jasheen Davis at slot 103, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Rod Moore at the 135th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Cobee Bryant at pick 167 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Armand Membou in slot 199 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
