The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Quinn Ewers, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
They are betting Campbell proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Mafah value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 7 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
They reached into another round for Donovan Jackson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Lander Barton slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 7 is lovely value for the linebacker. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Jasheen Davis at the Round 4 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for DJ Campbell. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Phil Mafah in pick 167. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Alfred Collins. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
